7 New Years Tips for Clear, Healthy Skin - At home!

1: Commit to Always Wash your Face Before Bed

You and I both know this one, and yet, let’s admit it, we don’t always follow through. But here’s the thing: going to bed with your makeup on can age your skin 7 times faster! The few extra minutes is definitely worth it.

2: Start Washing your Makeup Brushes Regularly

ree

It might sound like a hassle, but implementing a regular cleansing of your makeup brushes is an easy way to prevent breakouts and other annoying skin issues. You can purchase a liquid soap specifically for this purpose, but a gentle baby shampoo or castile soap mixed with a few drops of carrier oil is a great DIY makeup brush cleanser you can make yourself. A once per week cleansing session should keep those brushes free of dirt and breakout-causing debris.

3: Start Using a Stone Face Roller

A stone face roller is a perfect at-home tool to boost your blood circulation, tone skin and remove toxins that are present. Using a Jade or a Rose Quartz Stone roller 2x per day stimulates the skin and gets your blood flowing. Rolling relieves puffiness from under eye bags, can improve skin elasticity and relieve tension in the face, as well as support a healthy, functioning lymph system. Once in the morning and once at night is all you need to brighten your face and skin tone - but you can use your stone roller any time you’re in need of a little relaxation and skin pick-me-up!

4: Exercise

ree

This one might already be on your list since you know the benefits of exercise are many and varied- but here’s one more reason to add regular exercise to your routine: it's good for your skin! Exercise helps improve blood flow and circulation, which in turn delivers fresh oxygen to your skin, flushing it with nutrients which help improve your complexion and can even increase collagen production!

5: Moisturize, moisturize and again moisturize

ree

Hydration is key for healthy, glowing skin. And while that hydration should always start from the inside out (read: drink plenty of water each day!), applying a topical moisturizer both morning and night is critical. Have you tried the our botanical moisturizer? Enriched with plant-based carrier oils such as Shea Butter and Vitamin E, OK moisturizer, absorbs rapidly, improve the skin’s oxygenation, strengthen the protecting barrier and keep your skin smooth and souple. With the added benefits of essential oils, you will notice rapide improvement to skin texture and balanced sebum production.

6: Get More Sleep

ree

Sleep is your body’s reset process - and not just for your mind and muscles, but for your skin as well! Sleeping is your body’s time to repair itself. When you sleep, your body ramps up the blood flow to your skin, which is what helps you wake up looking refreshed in the morning. Avoid those puffy, swollen eyes with a solid 7-8 hours of quality sleep per night.

7: Exfoliate

ree

Since your skin regenerate itself every 28 days, it’s critical to regularly exfoliate to remove dead cells. Exfoliating once a week ensures that you reap the benefit of your skincare routine. The result healthier and better looking skin.

When coming up with your New Year’s Resolutions this year, think about including a few of these easy, at-home skincare habits to foster and maintain that gorgeous, healthy glow!
