OUR GENESIS
Like many of you, I could not find a simple and affordable routine for my skin. Why? “Because you have a problematic skin; you need to use this product, then this product, then this product on top of this product.” Caring for my skin became increasingly expensive and more complicated over the years. Everywhere I went, it was the same story. I wish I could tell you that one of these complex systems worked but no; things went from bad to worse, to worst. I had to use increasingly more makeup to cover pimples, blemishes, large pores and control my oily and reactive skin. As you can imagine, nothing was working. I became so self-conscious of my skin. I couldn’t see my own beauty anymore because all I could see were the defects that had to be covered up. For a long time, I was spending much money not to feel beautiful, but to merely feel ‘OK.’
Deliverance came when I got tired of being just OK. I was no longer OK with being told that my skin needs were too complicated, or that I had to use X, Y and Z to care for myself. I was not OK with spending hundreds of dollars on empty promises. I was no longer OK with being a victim of the beauty industry. I decided to take action, recognizing my abilities and seeing the needs of my friends and family. Within a period of months, I went from being a victim of the industry to try to help others just like me (and you) spend less to look better than ever. For me, it became a significant part of my entire ideology. Ornelia Kane was born!
OUR DNA
Ornelia Kane is a Canadian cosmetic company born in Calgary, Alberta. Our founder, Camilia Thieba, holds a bachelor degree in Biochemistry from the University de Moncton and a Master degree in Molecular and cellular Medicine from the University of Ottawa. Her passion for understanding how the body works at a molecular level combined with a degree in cosmetology from PIVOT POINT has led her to create Ornelia Kane Skin Care in 2017. Ornelia Kane Skin Care is becoming one of the leading natural skin care providers to all women, particularly women of colour.
